Simply the best food in the area. Truly lovely
location and building, exceptional food and the
most welcoming and attentive staff
I was filming in the area (half an hour away) for work
and went four times in ten days
I've never done a review on trip advisor before but
genuinely felt this restaurant deserved to be even
busier than it currently is

They couldn't be more attentive!! The staff are
brilliant at Lorentes. I've been to the one in Friar
Gate but this is our first time at the one by the
river at Darley Abbey. Beautiful venue, tasty food
and perfect service, xxx

Honestly, can't recommend Lorentes enough!
The food has been incredible every time, service
has always been friendly and fast.
Depending on what time you go it can either be nice and quiet
or have a buzzing atmosphere in the restaurant.
If you've got 4 people, try the tasting menu!

Absolutely brilliant authentic Spanish tapas
at this intimate restaurant in the traditional heart of Derby.
Loved every moment and made us yearn
for more wonderful Spanish food experiences.
Great wine, cheese and service too.

Went with 2 other friends on a Sunday afternoon.
Having lived and worked in Spain I found this to
be the closest thing to genuine Spanish tapas
outside of Spain. The service was brilliant the
food was beautifully served and full of flavour.
Really buzzing atmosphere. We are taking some
more friends this week.

Eat here for the second time last night and had
an equally great experience as the first.
Both times the service has been fantastic
and the food was perfect both times.
Lovely, well priced drinks and a great selection of food.
The Cod bites and honey Chorizo are gorgeous, highly recommend.

It's not often you leave a review while you're still at the table.
Fantastic location, ambience, service and food.
Absolutely faultless from start to finish.
If you're looking for the best restaurant in Derby, stop looking!
Thank you Lorentes, amazing!!

Went here to start the New Year celebrations with friends.
Really nice, small and cosy restaurant. A good selection of tapas
was ordered between us all and it was all really good!!
Can't fault the place!!
Recommend it highly and would definitely return. It's a little gem.

I've been to Spain and Portugal and I'm yet to find
a tapas place as wonderful as this spot. The tortilla de patatas is fantastic,
Their specials are varied and excellent and the service is quick,
friendly and helpful. Lovely wines but sometimes you need to get
a table a few days in advance. Everyone I've taken here has been impressed
and it's probably my favourite restaurant in the world!

If possible I'd give this restaurant 6 or 7 stars !
The tapas is second to none, service despite
the place being clearly busy was attentive and friendly.
Great place to eat either romantically or in a group.
Definitely returning.

it off as my go to place for a lovely meal out.
Highly recommended!

This is as real as Spanish bars get outside of Spain.
In fact, if you transplanted this bar to Madrid you wouldn't know it started life on Friar Gate!
The entire establishment fits comfortably into the middle ground
between bar and restaurant that we need to see more.
Here informality is the key to enjoying food, friends and drink.
I very much recommend a night here.
